Shakespeare Study Course
14 – 18 March 2011

This is a timetable of events for which arrangements have been made by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. Lunch and dinner will be at a place of your own choice. All classes will take place at the Shakespeare Centre, Henley Street, Stratford-upon-Avon in the rooms indicated. All classes last approximately one hour unless listed otherwise.

 

Sunday 13 March  
  Johnnsons Coaches to collect the group from XXX Airport and Convey to the guesthouses at Stratford-upon-Avon.
Visit to Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Hall’s Croft and Nash’s House
Holy Trinity Church (Church Services permitting)
   
Monday 14 March [Queen Elizabeth Hall]
10.00am Introduction to the Course
10.30am Coffee
11.00am Talk on Romeo & Juliet
12.00pm Lunch (own arrangements)
1.00 – 3.00pm Shakespeare Aloud Workshop
3.30pm Visit to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage
7.15pm Performance of Romeo & Juliet at the RSC Theatre
   
Tuesday 15 March [Wolfson Hall]
10.00am Post-performance discussion on Romeo & Juliet
11.00am Coffee
11.30am RSC Q & A session on Romeo & Juliet
12.30 – 1.30pm Lunch (own arrangements)
1.30 – 2.30pm Talk on King Lear
2.30pm Tea
3.00pm Wigs and Makeup Demonstration
7.15pm Performance of King Lear at the RSC Theatre
   
Wednesday 16 March [Alleyn Room]
9.30 – 10.15am Johnsons Coaches will collect the group from the guesthouse and convey to the Globe Theatre, London
Globe Exhibition
Matinee or Evening Performance of play at the Globe Theatre
TBC Johnsons Coaches will collect the group from The Globe Theatre and return to the guesthouse, Stratford-upon-Avon
   
Thursday 17 March [Queen Elizabeth Hall]
9.30 – 10.30am Post-performance discussion on King Lear
10.30 – 11.00am Coffee
11.00 – 12.00pm RSC Q & A session on King Lear
12.00 – 1.00pm Sandwich lunch provided by SBT [James I Lounge]
1.30pm Performance of Hamlet at The Swan Theatre
7.30pm Performance of The Tempest at The Swan Theatre
   
Friday 18 March [Alleyn Room]
9.30 – 10.30am Post performance discussion on Hamlet and The Tempest
10.30am Coffee
11.00 – 12.00pm RSC Voice Class
12.00 – 1.00pm Lunch (own arrangements)
1.20pm Train to Wilmcote, Shottery to visit Mary Arden’s Farm
7.30pm Performance of Antony & Cleopatra at the Swan Theatre
   
Saturday 19 March  
TBC Johnsons Coaches will collect the group from Guesthouses and convey them to airport
Depending on flight times you may be able to visit Blenheim Palace on your way to London
