Education
American Friends’ sole objective is to promote the study of William Shakespeare’s works in collaboration with the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. We seek to further the reach of Shakespeare’s legacy by offering meritorious students with scholarships that are used for scholarly, creative - ideally a combination - study. From 2002 through 2010 we have granted over 28 students with scholarships and resources to complete their area of research or creativity. The programs are:
- High School Shakespeare Study Course
- The Tree Garden at Anne Hathaway’s Garden
- The Gilman Fellowship
- The NEA workshop: Shakespeare, Rembrandt: Themes of Interiority
