Lakeside School at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust
July 2010

 

The first high school to participate in the program was Lakeside School in Seattle, Washington in July 2010. The SBT Learning Department and the Lakeside School faculty devised the following one-week study course for the students:

This is a timetable of events for which arrangements will be made by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. The Focus play option presented herein assumes the play can be seen twice during the Study Course. All classes will take place at the Shakespeare Centre, Henley Street, Stratford upon Avon, except where indicated.

 

Sunday 4 July  
6.00am Johnsons Coaches will collect the group from London Heathrow Airport (Flight United #958) and convey to Stratford Guesthouses.
Visit to Mary Arden’s Farm, Wilmcote
   
Monday 5 July [Queen Elizabeth Hall]
9.30 – 11.00am Introduction to the Course and introductory workshop session with Dr Nick Walton

11.30 – 12.30pm Talk on "The Life, Times and Historical Content of Shakespeare" with Dr Elizabeth Woledge

2.00 –3.00pm Talk on King Lear given by Nick Walton

3.30 – 5.00pm Visit to Shakespeare’s Birthplace and Visitor Centre Exhibition
